Did you know, there is such thing called a Tasmanian tiger. These creatures are marsupial kangaroos that many people mistook as a wild dog. Tasmanian tigers are now extinct because of a long period of bounty hunting systems. This particular marsupial has been extinct for 88 years now and the reason why I am writing about these is because if we don’t bring them back to life, lots of other animals could die. The Tasmanian devil, a relative of quolls, were food for the Tasmanian tigers, but now, since the are dead, the devils are getting lots of diseases, such as cancer. If the tigers were still alive, then they would be able to stop the devils from passing cancer to others by eating them. Now that the tigers are not alive, the devils can pass along plenty of diseases. This is the reason scientist are trying to bring them back to life. The team say the tigers can be recreated using stem cells and gene-editing technology, and they could be alive in 10yr’s time.
